Job Description Summary
The Contract Manager supports the team with contract analysis and risk & opportunity management. He/she plays an essential role in the resolution of contractual and commercial issues on turnkey or products and services projects and is actively involved in negotiations and margin enhancement initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Non-legal contract experts primarily supporting all phases (pre- and post-contract) of projects including negotiations, managing commercial issues, customer and supplier relationships, claims, disputes and insurance.
Come up with contractual analysis and interpretation on wide-ranging commercial issues
Take action as commercial expert to mitigate high value claimsDevelop and implement settlement strategies and agreements.
Drive change orders
Contribute negotiations on claims, change orders and other contractual/commercial issues
Draft contract amendments, change orders and commercially sensitive correspondence
Support report on contractual issues, risks and opportunities and participate in reviews with senior management
Navigate insurance and vendor recovery
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Performed as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May support small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data scientists. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience in contract and claim management
Excellent knowledge of customer, consortium subcontractor and supplier T&C’s
Familiar with risk management principles and tools
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to handle many complex issues concurrently
Computer-literate, including preparation of detailed presentations
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Bahasa & English
