General Electric Painter II (2nd Shift) in Jacksonville, Florida

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Paint a wide variety of products with a range of finishes and processes

  • Utilize spray guns, paint cans, and touch-up guns to finish product (Fine adjustments as needed)

  • Prepare materials for painting by cleaning, masking, bead blasting

  • Mix various paint ratios and test paint to determine proper mixture

  • Perform in-process visual inspection of units before and after product is painted

  • Calibrate hydro carbon equipment weekly

  • Operate high and low temperature ovens

  • Monitor airflow and oven charts

  • Maintain extensive shelf life logs

  • Perform daily machine preventative maintenance, changing filters as necessary

  • Actively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Ability to manually paint using 5 pound paint gun for extended period of time

  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and tolerate heat

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Must become FAA certified to support Repair Station, subject to FAA/DOT random drug and alcohol screening

Desired Characteristics:

  • Past manufacturing experience

  • Past experience with industrial, commercial, or residential painting

  • Understanding of blueprints and specifications; ability to interpret instructions from CMM’s Respirator certification

  • Basic computer, ERP and math skills

  • Experience with basic hand tools and measuring devices
