Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is offering the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and applications, specializing in aircraft engine design and analysis, in a technology base. Turkey Technology Center (TTC) in Kartal/İstanbul, is one of GE Aerospace's nine engineering centers throughout the world, supporting aviation-related R&D and innovation projects that expand with new investments.
Aeromechanics team at Turkey Technology Center is focused on phenomena of vibration, damping, natural frequencies, fatigue stress & life of blades and vanes of all modules of aircraft engine and/or gas turbines. The Aeromechanics Lead Engineer will perform aeromechanics analysis, design optimization, test & validation, and support tasks for certification and/or qualification of GE Aerospace products or modules in the specified scope of his or her discipline.
In this role you will utilize your engineering experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives to affect short-term and long-term business goals, in the broad context of the aeromechanics to support new designs or to solve problems occurring in the fielded products.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Owning the calculation of high cycle fatigue characteristics of aircraft engine or gas turbine blading and properly manage the adjacent technical and project functions for input and output relationships in the organization
Work with mechanical component hardware owners, module owners, adjacent technical functions and engine platform model leaders to ensure addressing the aeromechanical requirements to support overall product and/or program objectives and technical requirements
Performing aeromechanics analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) in support of new engine designs and fielded products.
Supporting and enhancing aeromechanics tools.
Executing test programs.
Preparing and presenting technical information to internal and external customers.
Documenting and communicating aeromechanics design, analysis, and test data.
Sharing engineering information, lessons learned, and promoting open dialogue.
Assuring proper documentation of technical data for assigned projects.
Mentor peers and contribute to their technical development
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
Hands on experience on aircraft engine or gas turbine blading design & verification is a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills and a good team player
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Demonstrated experimental and problem solving skills.
Accountable on project success
Able to work with global team and address business concerns with innovative technical solutions.
