General Electric Scientist - Fast Trak in Incheon, South Korea

Role Summary:The Scientist is responsible for upstream process development and training activities at the APAC Fast Trak Center located in Songdo, Korea.

Essential Responsibilities:Key responsibilities include (but not limited to);

• Conduct upstream process development on customer projects, and maintain and operate small- and large-scale bio-process equipment

• Design, develop and deliver training courses, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of bio-manufacturing for both internal and external customers

• Maintain accurate and complete records of all work, and report to customers and management in oral and written manner

• Conduct independent scientific application work on key projects

• Work with, and provide expert advice to, customers in a strongly collaborative environment

• Add value to GE’s customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in their bio-manufacturing processes and designing and implementing innovative process enhancement

• Develop and maintain relationships with the regional commercial and marketing teams, as well as the global Fast Trak and R&D organizations

Qualifications/Requirements:1. BS/BA degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Life Sciences field

  1. 2+ years of experience in upstream process development, scale up and tech transfer

  2. Able to communicate effectively in English

Desired Characteristics:1. Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Life Sciences field

  1. 4+ years of industry experience in monoclonal antibody, recombinant protein, vaccine or cell therapy process development

  2. Understanding of principles and theory behind unit operations for processing biologicals with knowledge in principles of scale-up, validation, single-use, hybrid and traditional set ups and GMP manufacturing

  3. Working knowledge of FDA/EMEA regulations for biologics including experience in CMC documentation

  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment

  5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationship with co-workers

  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated good presentation skills of scientific material

  7. Able to operate and thrive in a high-paced, fluid environment
