General Electric Product Service Plant Systems – Mark VI/VIe Controls Programmer in Hyderabad, India

Job Description Summary

The Product Service Plant Systems – Mark VI/VIe Controls Programmer is responsible for delivering issue resolution and implementing controls software updates for our global Gas Power customers for gas turbine, steam turbine, plant control systems, UX/CIMPLICITY screens , and software change documentation updates . The candidate should have sound knowledge of gas turbine, steam turbine, and/or plant control systems. The Product Service Plant Systems – Mark VI/VIe Controls Programmer will be responsible for investigating customer issues and technical anomalies, providing technical assessments, and implementing controls software changes as necessary.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide thorough resolution of Engineering Request (ER) cases with a sense of urgency and priority

  • As required, update customer controls software to implement necessary code changes and updates

  • Identify trending issues and provide countermeasures to protect our customers’ fleet

  • Develop internal and external communications (TILs, ETC, customer presentations, etc.) to provide guidance on major issue resolution

  • Demonstrate strong GE Beliefs, Lean principles, and customer centric culture every day

  • The position will also offer ample opportunities to directly interface with customers and commercial entities. When required, travel to site for technical support

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Instrumentation or Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience related to GE and/or Alstom combined cycle power plant controls

  • Experience and willingness to travel to customer sites to support commissioning or issue resolutions, when such need arises

  • Willing to work off hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution
