General Electric Lead Specialist - Contract Management OTR in Hyderabad, India

Role Summary:

To manage the site construction subcontracts of a Steam power plant, during contract formation and execution.

Consortium partner management

Supporting client facing team on contractual issues focused on site.

The position will be based on a project site in Ramagundam, Telangana

Essential Responsibilities:

•Site subcontract formation

Establish the site subcontracting strategy with the Site Manager, Project Manager Civil and Project

Manager M/E

Preparing flowdown of main contract into site subcontracts (ie volume 2) and Project Related

Purchasing Conditions (PRPC) for site related procurement packages (the initial PRPC for the

majority of procurement contracts is done by the Project Contract Manager)

Support Construction and Commissioning to issue the request for tenders, evaluate, select the

preferred tenderer and negotiate the signed subcontract, including not only site construction

subcontracts, but site based procurement contracts such as turnkey packages and supply

contracts with site services

•Site subcontract management

Co-ordinate the administration of all site subcontracts ensuring that GE’s rights are enforced

Administering all functions allocated to the Site Contract Manager, including overseeing

subcontractor correspondence

Develop and execute claims strategy with Project Manager Civil and Project Manager

Monitor NCR management, and enforce back-charges

Ensuring the correct Site Purchasing process and tools are in place and followed

Supervise payments and re-measurement under site subcontracts (which the Civil Contracts

Manager has primary responsibility for). In particular, participate in all final accounts with


•Consortium partner management (where there is one)

Managing the consortium agreement and consortium partner including:

ensuring that GE’s rights under the consortium agreement are enforced

maintaining a cooperative relationship with the consortium partner

leading all site based correspondence with the consortium partner

•Site client issues

supporting client facing team on contractual issues focused on site (eg site correspondence,

providing information to Project Contract Manager for client claims, keeping up to date claim event

forms, insurance claims)



•Tertiary technical qualification in relevant technical discipline, eg quantity surveying, building or



•Conversant with commercial terms and conditions for civil, erection and turnkey contracts

•Contract analysis

•Understanding of how a power plant site operates

•Business communication and contractual letter drafting

•Commercial sensitivity
