Job Description Summary
GPS CST – ST Standards Lead Controls Engineer for a world class engineering team that is responsible for the development of standards and the NPIs, to be converted to standards, as well as testing and validation of steam turbine controls software and hardware. Through innovation and active partnering with other GE engineering teams and external customers you will have the opportunity to work with ST Engineering, Accessories, Customer and CST controls teams to devise roadmap for Steam Turbine .Unit level controls for New Unit and Services opportunities world-wide. This Lead role requires some autonomy and judgement , in addition to closely collaborating and obtaining consensus with our internal & external customers, is critical in driving a team culture of technical domain depth, contemporary leadership, on-time quality execution and strong customer-focused mindset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Design, develop and execute strategies to gather and define requirements, develop and validate Steam Turbine standard control application software against requirements while creating a permanent linkage between requirement and standards artifacts.
Design, develop and execute strategies to gather and define requirements, develop and validate ST NPI control application software against NPI program specific requirements using standards artifacts as a basis.
Work with the technical leaders, Control Title Holders, internal customers, and external customers to gather control and operability requirements to deliver a quality product on time to meet Power Plant startups and commissioning activities. Perform various design reviews with the CTHs, including Chief Consulting Engineer for the Software designed and created.
Define and deliver productivity and process improvements that increase the capacity of the Plant Controls team.
Lead and support Agile enterprise tool strategies including CLM & PLM integration
Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or related engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
Steam Turbine (ST) design engineering in Combined Cycle Configuration
Steam Turbine operations in Combined Cycle Power Plant
Steam Turbine Controls experience in Combined cycle or non-combined cycle configuration.
Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams, customers, and suppliers to get consensus.
Proven change agent with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
Proven experience working in a global matrix environment, with influence and collaboration skills.
Strong leadership skills, keeping team focused and innovating through dynamic business cycle
Deep technical skills and expertise in Integrated Combined Cycle Plant Control and operation relative to Steam Turbine
System Integration mindset within the Thermal Engineering community for meeting customer demands
Excellent communication skills with ability to sell technology through simple and clear messaging
Drive ownership and incorporate lessons learned into the standard development strategies
