Job Description Summary

General Electric Aviation (GEA) is a leader in the industrialization of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) for the manufacture of military and commercial jet engines. CMC’s are a technological breakthrough in advanced materials that enables a revolutionary change in the engine’s fuel efficiency, performance and emissions through lower density and fuel burn at increased temperature. GEA’s commitment to the development of CMC technology began in 2001 and has reached realization in 2016 with first deliveries of the LEAP engine for commercial narrow body airliners. Orders for LEAP, which features a CMC shroud component, have now reached 40,000 in number, reflecting the success of this product. GEA’s commitment to the implementation of CMC technology will continue with the GE9X engine, the first commercial engine to incorporate multiple CMC components. GE9X, which will power wide body aircraft, is scheduled to complete flight tests in 2019 and will become the most powerful commercial engine ever produced. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead technology and capital projects with a cross functional team.

  • Mentor a well skilled experienced team.

  • Form cross functional teams and lead the team to meet milestones and completion of projects.

  • Lead lean efforts throughout the manufacturing process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing).

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing

  • Strong leadership ability to lead cross functional team members and motivating them to get the projects completed, on time and on budget.

  • Prior experience with manufacturing process and improvements

  • Lean experience is a plus.
