General Electric Panel Fab - B Technician in Huntsville, Alabama

Role Summary:

The Chemical Technician will be responsible for day-to-day Chemical operations in a PSM-Compliant Chemical Plant.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, you will:

  • Conduct safe and high-quality work practices in a 24/7 production environment

  • Be an active contributing member of a high performance, self-directed work team willing to take ownership of process zone

  • Understand and contribute to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing documents

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on equipment across assigned process zone and occasionally in cross functional areas

  • Monitor furnace-type equipment health and maintain process chemical supply, temperature, and utility levels

  • Willingness to learn operation of CNC Machine Center

  • Be responsible for ensuring facility equipment and inventory/consumable levels are accurate-Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace in a climate and debris-controlled environment.

  • Understand product flow techniques to minimize cycle time in manufacturing processes

  • Perform detail-oriented handling/installation of process tools, equipment, and components

  • Serve as a resource to other technicians in trouble shooting and identifying equipment issues

  • Utilize business software such as ERP and quality/EHS software

  • Complete required business and regulatory process documentation

  • Participate and actively engage in quality and continuous improvement projects

  • Communicate effectively with peers, management, & external stakeholders

  • Must be able to work in second shift/night shifts

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with GE Aviation tow coating process.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3 years experience in a chemical or process manufacturing environment

  • Mechanical/Electrical aptitude

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify issues and provide efficient solutions-

  • Strong organizational skills-

  • Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to work in a tobacco free environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively and adhere to team norms
