Job Description Summary
The Senior Aero Cost-Out Leader is an integral role within the Business Transformation team responsible for driving product cost out. This role is highly cross-functional, global, and collaborative. The Aero Cost-Out Leader will lead the functional teams to achieve product cost out through strategic sourcing, engineering optimization and redesign, manufacturing productivity, and operational excellence for the Aero packages and engines.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Drive cost-out project ideation, development & execution with assigned teams & value streams
Conduct analytics and parametric modeling to assist management teams in setting cost targets and to support the organization in negotiation and translation into business case / projects
Set priorities and hold the team accountable to deliver on value engineering cost pipeline and line of sight
Be the single-point of contact between Sourcing, Engineering & Manufacturing to help accelerate cost-out
Lead Should-Cost Initiatives, challenge the cost positions, and trigger new areas of cost-out
Lead NPI programs using Should-Cost, benchmarking, and constant push towards Design-To-Cost
Lead and execute Make vs Buy Initiatives with the right cost models
Implement project plans until full value capture
Required Qualifications
Significant experience in Cost Reduction, Product Engineering and/or Supply Chain (Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college, or related equivalent experience
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%
Desired Characteristics
MBA with a Finance specialty
Experience on cost-out programs management within an industrial company
Good IT / Digitization acumen, autonomy, decisive, collaborative
Knowledge of Product Costing, Should Costing and Design-to-Cost methodology
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global matrixed environment
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage uncertainty and navigate stakeholder pressures
Strong oral and writing communication and presentation skills in English
Strong stakeholder management and arbitration abilities
Ability to challenge status quo and implement effective changes to improve controlling performance
Clear thinker with ability to focus on the “critical few” issues/priorities
