Job Description Summary

As a member of the Steam Power Controls Sales Team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships that enable continued market success and further market penetration in your assigned region.

Your Role:

  • Support the maintenance of accurate and current project and opportunity information in NEX (SFDC)

  • Develop long term strategic plans by customer to drive penetration and growth

  • Continuously monitor and drive the development of the opportunity pipeline for regional opportunities

  • Own a coordinated ‘one face to the customer’ across the products and develop & own their account plans

  • Drive Orders, Sales, Cash and Contribution Margin (CM) growth

  • Provide leadership through the formulation and execution of proposal strategies that capitalize on GE's competitive strengths to serve the customer's needs while meeting GE’s business goals.

  • Interface with Product Management, Commercial Operations, Customer Service Leaders (CSL), Customer Service Representatives (CSR), Parts Fulfillment Leaders Project Managers and other functional groups as required as part of an integrated Customer Team to grow the GE Steam Power Controls business with Customers in assigned region.

  • Drive a sales pipeline on complex, multi-offering transactions that may include Parts, Repairs, Services, Performance Upgrades, Digital Solutions and Long Term Agreements.

  • Lead deal strategy development and reviews as necessary with Sales and Commercial Operations Team, Customer Service Leaders (CSL), and other functional groups as required

  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer strategy / profile / requirements including outage schedules and competitor actions; share internally and use market knowledge to drive sales opportunities with customers.

  • Maintain on-going customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Provide demand forecasting and pacing support to Sales Operations / Finance.

  • Work with Marketing and Product Line to develop new products and services for business growth

  • within a geographic area responsible for selling product(s), services, parts, solutions, or projects.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and others sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.

  • Awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

  • Uses of judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.

  • Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline from an accredited college or university OR (High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry)

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the Automation & Process Control Industry

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with, and knowledge of, Steam Turbine / Generator technology products and services

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Marketing, Sales, Project Management or Customer Service in the Power Generation industry

  • Ability to travel 50%
