BHGE has an opening for a North American Legal Contracts Counsel. This attorney will report to the Director of Legal Contracts for North America and will office in Houston, Texas although occasional travel to other Houston-based offices. Candidates who meet the qualifications herein are encouraged to apply.
The attorney will review and negotiate contracts with BHGE’s customers for the provision of oilfield goods and services. Contracts will include oilfield master services agreements, alliance agreements, distributorship agreements, software license agreements, consulting services agreements, job-specific agreements, NDAs, amendments and back-to-back subcontracts
Advise BHGE employees regarding specific contractual risks and liabilities, and complete special assignments as assigned
Handle multiple tasks and independently meet deadlines
License to practice law in the US.
At least 3 years of experience negotiating contracts.
General knowledge of the energy industry.
Excellent analytical and writing skills.
Ability to clearly communicate with internal clients of varying backgrounds and to build solid internal and external relationships.
Understanding of contract law and legal concepts, including the practical application in a business environment.
An understanding of anti-corruption, anti-boycott, trade sanctions, export controls and other regulatory laws.
Experience negotiating oilfield service contracts is strongly recommended.
