General Electric Gate 3 Cell Leader in Houston, Texas

Role Summary:The Gate 3 Cell Leader - Houston Service Center will work at the Houston Service Center to repair and overhaul GE’s Aero-derivative gas turbine engines and modules. The Gate 3 Cell leader will be responsible for leading a team of Operations Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, and Technicians in the successful execution of production activities for the LM Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine Engines.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Gate 3 Cell Leader - Houston Service Center, you will:

  • Lead and staff cell resources (up to 3 shifts) to meet EHS, Quality and production targets. Staff includes Operations Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, and Hourly production employees

  • Lead and drive strategic and critical business initiatives internally and with cross-functions to meet overall HSC goals on Quality, TAT and Cost.

  • Collaborate closely with Customer facing, Productivity, other Gate Leaders to ensure specific targets on EHS, quality, delivery and cost are met. Address any escalations/critical issues in a timely manner.

  • Establish and maintain communication/production planning tools/visual aids to ensure team understands schedule targets and progress. Escalate issues as needed and collaborate with teams to resolve.

  • Develop a strong partnership with internal and external teams to build a solid continuous improvement project deck for the assigned work areas and processes

  • Establish and maintain tools and processes to continuously improve cycle times for engine overhaul processes.

  • Hold self and team accountable to GE Compliance and Integrity standards

  • Hold self and team accountable to GE EHS culture, driving a safe work place and environment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain/Management or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shop operations / leadership role

  • Proven success in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and driving process improvements on the shop floor

  • Demonstrated

  • Strong computer skills, and high level of proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
