Job Description: OSS Service Specialist

Role Summary/Purpose

You will work as a technician as part of team conducting specialty on site services.

Essential Responsibilities

As a Service Specialist you will:

  • Perform process-oriented work required to clean power plant and industrial equipment.

  • Perform work inside confined spaces, on scaffolding, and/or other areas as needed in industrial settings where Personal protective equipment will be utilized (e.g., power plants, refineries, plants, etc.).

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all major equipment within the area working with other team members and independently in the performance of normal operations.

  • Provide process diagnosis and aid in establishing process improvements for long term process cost control and quality growth.

  • Some operations require respirators and/or other devices for the safeguard of operator health and incumbents must be willing to undertake these operations and follow all established work practices.

  • Specific equipment and operational details are sensitive and not to be discussed except with accepted applicants.

  • Ability to maintain paper and electronic records and perform related duties.

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally with limited notice.

  • Ability to travel for work from 20-66% of year as annual workloads fluctuate.

  • Ability to work in hot or cold weather.

  • Ability to work in loud areas with hearing protection.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to obtain Passport, & TWIC

  • Ability to use a computer for training and communications

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to be medically cleared to use Facepiece Respirator while employed in this role.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain status as an Employee Processer from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Licensing Center during probationary period.

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior experience/training with safe work practices (e.g. EH&S training)

  • 3+ years of experience working in power plant or industrial environment.

  • 3+ years of experience in operating and maintenance of powered and heavy tools.

  • In lieu of experience, training and/or certification from trade school.

  • Experience with specialized industrial equipment and sites.

  • Experience working around and/or operating forklifts.

  • Experience working in confined spaces.

  • Experience with working at heights and utilizing associated PPE.

  • Experience of working while using respirator protection.

  • Ability to work well in small teams.

  • Ability to work in restricted workspaces.

  • Ability to move and work with moderate to heavy tooling, materials, and equipment

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to manually pack and load tooling and material shipments at a warehouse or industrial facility.

US ONLY: The base pay range for this position is $18.50 per hour. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
