This position reports to the Commercial Operations Leader for ILI for USA/Latin America within the Global Commercial Operations function with the mission to “Protect and profitably grow BHGE PPS through winning proposals and commercial process excellence”
The Commercial Operations Specialist is responsible for facilitating and delivering bid and risk related activities for ILI services in the USA, ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest service quality standards.
This includes managing all aspects of bid preparation efforts in accordance with the PPS guidelines & ITO processes (Inquiry to Order).
In the role of Commercial Operations Specialist, you will:
Manage all aspects of the bid process in accordance with the PPS business rules & Inquiry To Order (ITO) process and ensure all data is accurately documented and stored in PPS’ database
Work closely with Sales and Project Manager to facilitate deal and risk reviews to avoid unknown, un-quantified risks during the bid preparation phases
Coordinate and document with Sales and Project managers the region’s bidding & risk management strategies to increase “Speed to yes” and improve win rates for the region
Develop a strong understanding of the key ITO processes and systems and contribute to process simplification efforts to reduce cycle time, improve service quality and reduce costs
Develop strong working partnerships with other functions (Legal, Finance, Applications, Analysis, etc.) to enable effective communication, on-time responses, improved information flow to help shape winning and profitable bids
Work closely with the Operations and Project Management teams to ensure cost estimates fully reflect the entire scope of work and key assumptions within each bid
Perform frequent reviews with project managers upon project closure to reconcile estimated to actual costs
Work closely with the Applications Engineering team to ensure that technical assessments are completed on time and with rigor to ensure the safe passage of PPS tools through the customer’s pipeline
Ensure compliance with all corporate commercial practices and standards.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum 3 years experience in a Commercial role responsible for tasks such as analyzing and completing complex bids/proposals
Prior experience in the Oil & Gas Industry (preferably Pipeline Inspection/ Integrity Services) or another high technology/engineered service industry
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information in a simplified fashion
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to effectively influence and negotiate with all levels of people
Excellent organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple bids/projects
Financially & commercially astute – a strong understanding of contracts, business financials and commercial risk
Positive, can-do approach to work and to problem solving
Results orientated, self-driven individual with passion and drive with the ability to influence without authority in a multi-disciplinary, matrixed environmentSalesforce/Deal Machine, Oracle, or similar CRM tool expertise
