Job Description Summary
GE Gas Power is looking for highly motivated individuals to join the Aero Plant Tendering Organization. The Aero Plant Cost Leader will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and presenting costs for Aero gas turbine proposals for power generation plants operating in simple and combined cycle mode. This role will support cross-functional teams - including the Customer Applications Engineering (CAE) proposal team - from the time of approval, bid submission, and turnover to OTR. The Aero Plant Cost Leader will also be involved in power generation plant cost development including, but not limited to, GE and vendor provided equipment, project engineering, GE site costs, and EPC/Partner costs.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Work as a member of the proposal team on assigned cost estimates taking the lead to solicit inputs, prepare and integrate cost details, analyze for competitiveness, and issue concise cost summaries with detailed back-up
Review proposal technical documents such as the equipment list, division of responsibility, P&ID’s, site layout drawings, project schedule, and bills of quantity for the purpose of updating proposal costing
Review and evaluate customer Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and drawings
Attend site visits to obtain site specific information required for developing cost estimates
Collaborate with GE CAE team members to develop internal GE direct and indirect costs
Collaborate with EPC partners and subcontractors to obtain power plant construction, installation and commissioning costs
Develop cost estimates to check and evaluate EPC/Partner Bids and GE internal costs using Estimating Software and MS Office
Create documents required for cost estimate review by management team and lead cost process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Power Plant Design, Plant Cost Estimation, Proposal Development or Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited university or college
Desired Characteristics
Strong expertise with Aero GT Power Plant systems, including Balance-Of-Plant (BOP) Equipment
2+ years’ experience using Aspen Cost Estimating Software Package and e-Success Cost Estimating Software Package
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work with different levels of management, vendors, customers, and cultures
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects/work load
Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Effective delegation skills and ability to hold team members accountable for delivery
Strong collaborative leadership skills and creative problem-solving mindset
