General Electric Supplier Capability Engineer (Electrical/Electronics) in Horten, Norway
Role Summary:This is a key technical position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective design transfer of key new products from GE Healthcare Engineering to deliver a high quality, manufacturable solution at our selected suppliers. The successful candidate will utilize strong electronic/electrical experience, working together with internal and external partners, to deliver best in class healthcare products for our customers.
Essential Responsibilities:Effectively assess and evaluate supplier technical capabilities as an enabler for supplier selection process.
Establish and empower working relationships with external and internal interfaces (Suppliers, GE Engineering, Service, etc)
To influence product design specifications at the design stage
To support effective Design transfer to Manufacturing
To be the driving force behind new quality methodology thinking (APQP/PPAP).
To ensure that customer requirements are understood, internalized and implemented in all New Products Development Programs.
Drive a continuous improvement culture in all we do: Design, Manufacturing and Program Delivery.
Will be a part of the new Supplier Capability Engineering Organization
Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in R&D Design, Electronic/Electrical Manufacturing and/or Engineering Program/Project Management.
Experience of Electrical/Electronic development methodologies, DFM, DFT applications and subsequent implementation at NPI development level
Fluent in communicating in English (both written and verbal).
Travel within Europe is to be expected as part of this role on an average level of 20%.
Desired Characteristics:Two or more years of experience, with proven leadership in Manufacturing Engineering/Assembly Engineering, at a “hands on” production line level.
Two or more years of experience with proven leadership, in an Advanced Quality Engineering Role, with experience of APQP requirements and implementation.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Familiarity with various engineering areas of technology, such as, but not limited to: Electronics, Plastics, Cable & Harness, Fab & Machine, Power Supplies & Power Distribution, Batteries, HLA’s, or OEM (Process & Design capability)
Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to speak other European languages an advantage
