General Electric Technical Proposals Leader Offshore Wind - Americas in Hooksett, New Hampshire
Job Description Summary
You will be working as a Technical Proposals Leader within the GE Renewables Commercial Operations department for GE’s Offshore Wind business. This role will have responsibility for developing optimized and well documented technical proposals to range of deals in the Americas with various customers. This position is based out of Boston, MA.
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical bid development and negotiation. Owns the technical analysis of customer inquiries, RFQs, or tenders, to determine proposal requirements, scope of supply, and winning equipment configurations. Matrix leadership of technical team including Application engineering, EHS, product engineering, renewables product line and all other technical disciplines for proposals
Coordinate with the deal team the internal costing as well as supporting development of the technical offer
Perform value optimization on deals accounting for competitive situation
Mobilize multi-functional teams including Risk, Project Office and Engineering functions to build the internal costing and technical offer
Support the preparation of the deal risk profile of the offer to the business for the necessary approvals to bid
Present the technical offer to the customer; take responsibility for drafting and negotiating the technical terms
Support achievement of Commercial Team metrics (on-time deals delivery...)
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses commercial experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Master's degree from an accredited university
Minimum 8 years experience in Sales, Proposals or Project Execution
Fluent in English (speaking and writing skills)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Enthusiasm for technology and renewable energy
Experience in the field of negotiating high value contracts would be a strong advantage
Experience in Sales, Contracts, Customer Service in renewable energy industry or in the offshore / marine industries
Pro-activeleadership skills including with virtual project teams
Business acumen and strategic thinking
Ability to make decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization
Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation period
