General Electric Manufacturing Engineer – Metal Forming in Hooksett, New Hampshire

Job Description Summary

GE is looking for an experienced Manufacturing engineer with a background in cold-forming techniques who will help insure manufacturing readiness. The ideal candidate has a natural curiosity for what is causing problems and desires to solve them in an analytical and respectful manner.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical process ownership of cold forming methods [compound, progressive, and roll dies].

  • Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that product can be produced within acceptable yield levels.

  • Teach and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability.

  • Assist production supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems.

  • Team with production employees to identify and drive lean improvements.

  • Coordinate several projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to learn; in this role as you will be working with the current holder of this role for 20 months.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Production Quality

  • Desired Characteristics

  • Direct experience with metal forming processes [Inconel preferred]

  • Apply and interpret GD&T

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a strong preference towards Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials

  • Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment.

  • Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures
