Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible creating robust processes, equipment acquisition, and supporting production cell daily needs. In this role, you will focus on CNC turning programs, tooling, and methods associated with the sector manufacturing process.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop N/C turning processes for development hardware (i.e., machining programs, tooling, methods, and training)

  • Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support

  • Provide manufacturing method development and improvement for current and new products

  • Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel working within a self-directed workforce (Teaming) environment

  • Exhibit ownership and take responsibility in attaining all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas

  • Assist supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action

  • Co-lead efforts to maintain and improve shop floor quality controls and best practices with area Product Team Leaders

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in skillset)

  • A minimum of 3 years in skillset

  • Direct experience with metal machining processes [Inconel preferred] or strong education background with aptitude and desire to learn from experienced personnel.

  • Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment.

  • Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.

  • Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures

  • CAD/CAM Programming experience

  • Unigraphics experience
