General Electric Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Hooksett, New Hampshire

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible creating robust processes, equipment acquisition, and supporting production cell daily needs in our cold forming area. Additional responsibilities include tracking cell manufacturing data to help drive improvements. In this role, you will work on strategic initiatives to develop and meet long term objectives. The individual is also expected to serve as a coach for new team members and may also be a utilized as a subject matter expert.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical process ownership for aircraft engine stators. Processes covered will range from cold forming methods [compound, progressive, and roll dies along with ring rolling] to machining [turning].

  • Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that product can be produced within acceptable yield levels.

  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability.

  • Assist production supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems by driving to root cause and permanent corrective action.

  • Mentor new staff in technical and lean principals.

  • Team with production cell staff to identify and drive lean improvements

  • Coordinate several projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Production Quality

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a strong preference towards Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials from an accredited university or college.

  • Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment.

  • Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.

  • Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures
