Job Description Summary
The EHS Leader will be responsible for leading plant EHS and Security operations for the Hooksett, NH facility. Hooksett is a large and complex site consisting of 800 employees with three business units focused on delivering commercial & military components across tubing, sectors, and blisk product lines. Hooksett is focused on lean transformation that includes respect for people and continuous improvement with a strong daily management system and problem-solving culture in place. This role will own/influence budgets and operating plans for the site’s safety and security programs, is guided by operating policy, and works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the site and high levels of evaluative judgement and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
Individuals who provide day-to-day EHS support for service activities and projects and currently tend to report into a specific sector or P&L and cover this sector or P&L only. They are equivalent to plant level EHS professionals and provide immediate, direct support to field service employees that work at customer sites. Their jobs include things like training, inspections, customer interaction around planning and job execution. They are the first line contact for the field service engineers as they manage day to day EHS issues in service work. They typically do not have any direct reports.
Typically a 2nd line manager with senior professional direct reports. Has the ability to attract and retain talent. Often manages medium to large teams.Developing expertise in own function. May include roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional or thought leadership . Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.
Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.
For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Environmental Health & Safety & Services and Projects. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
