General Electric Braze Certifying Agent in Hooksett, New Hampshire
Job Description Summary
The Braze Certifying Agent will be responsible for control, qualification, and improvement of processes and operators across the various braze disciplines used throughout Hooksett's manufacturing of tubes and sector vanes.
Role and Responsibilities
Job Tasks May Include:
Act as the Certifying Agent to provide approval and/or certification of technical plans, manufacturing instructions, personnel, processes, procedures and/or equipment, etc., associated with the Braze discipline. Provide training, conduct technical evaluations and examinations of personnel to qualify in brazing processes and maintain records. Approve specifications of new equipment. Interface directly with Quality function and affected business/group where corrective actions are required. Provide technical direction, shop support and counsel to area personnel. Monitor special processes to maintain compliance with applicable requirements.
-Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 1-year of applied brazing applications experience; Or
-Associate degree or Technical Certificate in a technical field from an accredited college; Or
-High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 2-years of experience in precision fabrication disciplines
Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpretation of mechanical blueprints, engineering specifications and drawings.
Demonstrated proficiency in the set -up and operation of torch and induction brazing tools and equipment.
Demonstrated proficiency in the set -up and processing of furnace brazing operations.
Knowledge of process parameters, process control and the effects of process variables on critical properties of items processed.
Familiarity with controlling documents, design practices, specifications and all tasks and/or responsibilities per GE Aviation Procedure 259.01, Control of Special Processes.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as INTERAX, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or web-based.
Familiar with Quality System policies and procedures.
Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
Experience in use of various precision gages, measuring tools and equipment such as, micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, special fixturing, etc.
Demonstrated experience in fabrication-related disciplines.
Demonstrated use of oral and written communication skills.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability in maintaining relationships by recognizing needs and sensitivities of others and cooperating and resolving conflicts that inspire the Team in achieving objectives and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability in receiving guidance and supervision, following work rules, safety practices, work procedures; meeting deadlines; and punctuality and attendance standards.
Additional CA duties as assigned.
Flexibility to work varying schedules is mandatory and will be determined by Hooksett Plant needs.
Upon successful certification achievements, will be required to perform associated duties on various shifts.
