Job Description Summary
GE Renewable Energy has an exciting opportunity for an Application Specialist to join its Hydro team. As an Application Specialist, you will serve in a role responsible for supporting the sales and tendering efforts of the Hydro Controls & Governors business.

Roles and Responsibilities
Technical bid development and negotiation. Owns the technical analysis of customer inquiries, RFQs, or tenders, to determine proposal requirements, scope of supply, and winning configurations for the Hydro Controls & Governors product line.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Work in close collaboration with regional sales, engineering, project management, commercial operations and other internal functions
Produce commercial quotations including cost estimates
Communicate directly with internal and external customers, evaluate on-site project conditions during tendering phase
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or an Associates degree in a related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience).
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in PLC-based control systems.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel 15% of the time both domestically and internationally
Desired Characteristics
Be fluent in English language (reading, writing and verbal expression)
Proficiency with MS Office
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience in producing technical and commercial proposals for industrial control systems
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
General understanding of power generation systems (i.e. Hydroelectric)
General understanding of hydraulic fluid power technology
Detail oriented; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
Ability to work within a matrix work environment with remote teams
