Job Description Summary

This position addresses all aspects of work in the region, including both the Projects and the Services activities. For the Projects activities within the region the role will include:

• The point of contact for EHS-related Project matters, coach and support the Site EHS Managers and perform EHS duties at project management level

• The point of contact for our Customer/Partner’s project EHS representatives

• Involved in the overall GP Projects EHS auditing program

• The focal point of ITO/OTR handover for EHS related matters.

For the Services activities within the region the role will include:

• Actively involved with our FieldCore execution EHS teams at outage site level

• Involved with any RCA investigations for specific issues at outage sites

• Involved in conducting EHS audits at key outage sites

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support, track and assess all activities Projects & Services activities for the region.

  • Represent EHS in various staff meetings and leadership calls to ensure EHS operability.

  • Support EHS regional activities and other sub-regional groups to share best practices, issues and solutions to those issues.

  • Ensure effective implementation of EHS management system including policy, plans, training, effective risk assessment, inspection, auditing, event management and analysis.

  • Ensure effective implementation of GE standards and procedures at Projects & Services sites, including the effectiveness of EHS related processes owned by others such as Partners, Consultants, Contractors.

  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken in the event of non-compliance to all GE related matters.

  • Provide timely information to the EHS Regional Leader in relation to any trends that become evident through analysis.

  • Establish and enhance EHS programs that support the GE Gas Powerbusiness and its initiatives.

  • Evaluate EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plansand budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and internal policy/protocol.

  • Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and GE program requirements.

  • Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of both the Projects & Services sites.

  • Provide technical guidance and training at the Project & Service site level.

  • Analyze data to assess environment, health and safety challenges, and develop appropriate control mitigations for any issues found.

  • Manage activities and provide leadership to programs that ensure company compliance.

  • Liaise with Customer, Partner if any, and Subcontractors’ representatives at project level.

  • Identification, hiring if needed, training and mobilization of site EHS staff onto our Engineering Equipment Package (EEP), Turnkey Partner (TKP), Turnkey Self-Implement (TKSI) Projects.

  • Providing access to and training of relevant site EHS staff on Gensuite to be used on the project, after creation of the department / sub-department in the relevant Gensuite Gas Power (GP) Projects regional site and activation of such modules when needed.

  • Ensure suitable use of Gensuite for accurate reporting and supporting of EHS processes.

  • Prepare periodic project EHS reporting / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with the organization’s requirements and communicate it to relevant distribution list.

  • For our Project sites support the Project Manager (PM) and Site Manager (SM) in preparing the project-specific EHS documentation, including but not limited to the site EHS plan, environmental management plan, emergency response plan and traffic management plan, considering legal (including permits) and contractual requirements.

  • For our Project sites ensure applicable legal requirements have been properly identified and complied with.

  • Lead EHS kick-off meetings with Partners on our TKP and TKSI Projects

  • Perform the initial review of the site EHS action plan to be deployed at Project start.

  • Perform the onboarding process of new Site EHS Managers onto our Project sites.

  • Follow-up with the GE Site EHS Manager on the deployment and maintenance of site EHS management.

  • Track and support deployment of any GE EHS initiatives or changes in the EHS requirements for TKP/TKSI Project sites and actively support the project to achieve EHS excellence.

  • Review Commissioning Safety Rule / Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures prepared by Partner or Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contractors on our EEP and TKP sites.

  • Provide continuous support and mentoring to the site EHS manager, including periodic planned calls (monthly as a minimum) on our EEP, TKP, and TKSI Project sites.

  • Assess yearly the EHS performance of every active TKP.

This role will report functionally to the Gas Power Regional EHS Leader.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Engineering, Business or equivalent, or Significant experience leading projects & performance initiatives.

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal).
