Job Description Summary

As part of the Global Service Parts Operations (GSPO) organization, the MENEA-SSA (Middle East, North East Africa & Sub-Sahara Africa) SPO Logistics Leader is responsible for leading the Logistics operations of Service Parts and orchestrating strategic initiatives to drive Service Level improvement and Cost and Cash productivity in MENEA-SSA countries. He/She will be responsible for activities like transportation, customs clearance, and warehousing operations. He/She will own the parts delivery operations and drive continuous improvements to the customs operations and logistics processes to increase supply chain responsiveness and improve on-time delivery. He/She will also be supporting the region’s growth by setting up logistics structure in new countries GE Healthcare is willing to grow in. He/She will also drive Cost Productivity programs, working in close connection with the SPO Fulfillment Leaders and Emerging Markets Service Delivery Leaders. This role shall report to MENEA-SSA Service Parts Operations Manager.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads, coordinates, or oversees transportation, warehousing & logistics operations. Activities include productivity and process quality of warehouse operations, reducing controllable expenses and contract labor spend, and covering logistics and shipping processes (including purchasing, receiving, and shipping).

  • Drive Parts cycle time reduction and initiatives to improve on-time delivery.

  • Lead the transportation operations, daily transportation planning and execution in sync with the 3PL warehousing and country logistics specialists.

  • Manage carrier’s performance and standards. Govern transportation spending and new carriers’ introduction and onboarding. Drive the local customs clearance operations and ensure compliance to local regulations.

  • Manage the reverse logistics flow (e.g. field returns and cross-border recalls) for service parts and tools.

  • Improve data visibility and tracking capabilities across the supply chain. Collaborate with Systems and Digital team on new initiatives (EDI, TMS, …).

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, International Business, Business Administration, or related disciplines.

  • 4-5 years of working experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transportation and Distribution (experience in Healthcare & Medical Device industry is a preference).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Power Point, and Word.

  • Language: Strong command of spoken and written English is a must.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Proven business and financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of organization

  • Demonstrated work experience in Logistics operations, Supply chain Management and Physical Distribution of Medical Service Parts.

  • Able to strategize and influence senior management, while being able to engage, lead and coach working level staff to achieve the deliverables.

  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute multiple objectives and metrics.

  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in Lean fundamentals and tools.

  • CSCP, CPIM, CLTD or similar qualification is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP, WMS and TMS.

  • Experience with SQL & Data Analytics is a plus.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Excellent command of Arabic and English Languages.
