Job Description Summary

GE Renewable Energy has a carbon neutral operations commitment that requires all its businesses to decarbonize energy, electricity, waste, logistics and employee mobility. Customer and regulatory demands and developments, however, require a wider value chain approach and the business has therefore launched additional efforts to decarbonize its supply chain, boost product sustainability improvements for its customers, and prepare for setting Science Based Targets. These are strategic, long term initiatives with immediate commercial value and require dedicated resource to ensure each P&L are aligned to deliver their part.

Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain focused deployment of GE Renewable Energy’s Decarbonization and Sustainability Strategy hereunder:

  • Integrate Environment & Decarbonization metrics and targets within ONW Sourcing framework

  • Lead deployment of Supplier Sustainability assessments with external partner to inform actions and strategy.

  • Monitor performance and follow up to continuously improve supplier sustainability performance

  • Develop and drive ONW Supply Chain Decarbonization roadmap, from initial scoping, quick wins, supplier engagement and longer-term strategies with Sourcing and regional stakeholders.

  • Support and coordinate deployment of category and sub-category sourcing strategies and plans for decarbonization and associated supplier programs in close collaboration with our Global Commodity Leaders (GCL) and other key internal stakeholders

  • Lead continuous evolution of necessary tools and policies with focus on decarbonization in the sourcing process with relevant stakeholders

  • Be the first point of contact for supply chain critical Product Sustainability efforts to support data collection for Life Cycle Assessments, coordinating within relevant sourcing team stakeholders

  • Be the subject matter focal point for GCLs, providing strategic and tangible insights on how to integrate Environment & Decarbonization topics into global category strategy/plans. Identify and deploy category specific learning and training needs.

  • Support ‘Green Lean’ and cost-effective decarbonization actions that drive efficiencies and reduce risk, e.g. on logistics, waste reduction and increased adoption of renewable energy to power site consumption.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in driving supply chain sustainability & climate change agenda in a global organisation.

  • Experience in project management, sustainability, logistics and supply chain, environmental management, communications in a complex matrix business environment

  • Experience driving transformational change programs and ability to translate strategic insights into tangible and actionable plans

  • Proven track record in project management

  • Ability to navigate and challenge status quo in a complex, multi-cultural matrix organization

  • Holistic business mindset, allowing you to see the bigger picture of projects and initiatives and drive company-wide impact
