General Electric Travelling Wind Farm Service Technician - Mechanical in Home/Remote/Alternate, Australia

If so, we want to hear from you. We're looking for motivated individuals to join us as Travelling Wind Farm Service Technicians – Mechanical.
Based out of one of our several Australian wind farm sites and being regularly dispatched country wide to support ongoing maintenance activities, major component exchanges, and new farm stand-up activities. This role will see you interface regularly with multiple GE Onshore wind farms, Service Management, our many Clients and internal technical teams.
Location is flexible around Australia; East Coast is preferred.
Interpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins and complete assigned tasks in accordance with GE work instructions.
Perform and ensure the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets.
Supervise major component exchange and crane operations.
Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the above documents and to the organization’s SWMS, LOTO, associated EHS & QA/QC policies/procedures.
Drive a positive reporting culture by identifying errors, violations, incidents or problems immediately using GE systems.
Liaise and Collaborate with GE Engineering Support team to ensure technical issues are resolved.
Uphold and maintain Quality Control, by making conformance or non-conformance decisions upon completion of tasks and inspections.
Form part of an on-call roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management.
Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved.
Work closely with and answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required.
Champion Safety by being familiar with and following all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to the job and cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits.
SCADA system experience, remote operation and fault finding of complex power generation equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
As a minimum, hold a current: Mechanical Trade Certificate, Construction Industry White Card and Current First Aid/CPR.
Demonstrate previous experience in the Onshore Wind sector or similar heavy industry (Five years Minimum).
Experience working in remote locations and autonomously.
Competent in fault finding mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.
Must have the ability to climb wind turbines and complete physically demanding tasks at heights.
Must be willing to travel >50% of the year.
HRWL including Dogging, Rigging (Advanced), Forklift, EWP.
