Job Description Summary
The Commercial FP&A Finance Manager will work as part of the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics FP&A team and be responsible for the sales across PDX. The finance manager will work cross functionally with PDX regional finance managers, group FP&A and Controllership to deliver growth, business strategy and profitability, as well as drive visibility and improvement into our sales planning, estimates and reporting processes. In this role he/she will manage a Financial Analyst as well as work indirectly with finance managers/analysts in multiple locations. The Finance manager will report to the PDX Global FP&A Leader.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly closing/estimate/actuals pacing and develop reliable estimates of sales price, volume and margin accretion.
Track progress against plan at a granular level. Recommending actions to get to planned performance for the operating teams
Driving profitable growth (price, volume, margin accretion) by providing analysis of results and reporting key metrics while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions
Continue to develop estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews, GPB (3-year plan) and SII (1-year plan)
Drive reporting process improvements & standard work across the regions
Drive standard work and continuous improvement of the revenue/sales processes
Responsible for M1DC and monthly P&L initiatives across revenue, deferrals, rebates, discounts etc.
Partner with business leader and staff to drive operating performance (volume and price, margin accretion) & act as champion for strategic initiatives within the organization
Assist with management reporting (regional and segment P&L’s) and communicate results to managers.
Responsible for automating and updating the finance KPIs used in the Monthly operating reviews (MOR)
Assist with trending analysis of scan data across the regions
Drive consistent usage of Hyperion, GLA (report net), and Qliksense Business Intelligence (B.I.) tools across GE Healthcare. Develop new reports for process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent knowledge.
Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
Significant experience working on commercial and/or sales related matters.
Experience successfully leading cross-functional projects and process improvement within the operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas.
Experience leading in a matrixed environment, leading team members balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, imagination, and external focus.
Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation.
Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
Clear thinking / problem solving successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas
Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.
Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position.
Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
Graduate of GE's Financial Management Program (FMP), Experienced Financial Leadership Program (EFLP) or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS)/Operational Finance leadership program (OFLP); or graduate of other financial leadership programs is an asset.
