Roles and Responsibilities
As part of a ramp-up of Service (O&M, Operations and Maintenance) activities of Onshore Wind Farms predominantly in Vietnam, we are looking for a Operations Leader - ASEAN - to take charge and drive the initial planning and operational readiness activities for multiple long term wind farm service contracts which cover wind farms currently in construction phases. This includes building Vietnamese field service teams, establishing contractual compliance, working closely with Global and Regional Engineering teams to anticipate technical headwinds (if applicable), establishing parts inventory requirements (min/max levels, storage locations), and developing an eco-system of local Vietnamese sub-suppliers (conforming vendors for labor and or materials) to augment internal field service teams.
Post initial ramp-up the Operations Leader will drive customer satisfaction by delivering on contractual wind farm availability targets in the ASEAN sub-region (Vietnam and Thailand), and drive business sustainability by delivering on bottom line profitability targets. To achieve these goals the Operations Leader will need to maintain a rigorous daily management of the wind farm teams/sites, which includes (but is not limited to) monitoring turbine availability, field service resourcing, spare parts availability, contractual compliance, rolling site-wise cost / budget forecasts and timely close out of ERP work flows. The Operations Leader will also need to maintain close contact with customer representatives to ensure contractual commitments are being met.
The Operations Leader will have high levels of autonomy and will build up a relatively large team of field service resources and ad hoc contractors. This being the case, the Operations Leader will be expected to keep safety (EHS) on the forefront of their agenda, and lead by example in creating a safety first culture. The Operations Leader will also be expected to display high levels of personal integrity and keep Compliance as a regular touch point and agenda item for direct reports their teams.
Bachelors Degree (or higher education) in Engineering, Business or Law;
Demonstrated history of being an EHS champion and driving a zero harm culture in Field Service teams;
Prior experience leading complex projects or field service teams in South East Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines) within a cross functional MNC environment;
Prior experience managing a P&L and providing regular financial forecasts against assigned targets;
Strong planning and problem solving mindset;
Fluency in English language (oral and written).
Onshore / Offshore wind service or power service industry (thermal, coal, gas, hydro-electric) experience;
Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle (for example);
Experience using project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera (for example);
Exposure to sourcing and supplier qualification processes (creation of RFQs, vendor negotiations, and ongoing audits);
Vietnamese language would be a plus.
