General Electric Digital Project Manager in Hino, Japan

Job Description Summary

Responsible for wing-to-wing execution of technical projects to deliver high quality outcomes to internal and/or external customers. Partners with functional owner to define requirements. Works with technical team internal and external to the initiative to ensure outcomes delivery on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality. Ensures project management practices are followed and improved as needed.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

-Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in specifying requirements

-Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs

-Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources

-Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge

-Work with technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan

-Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required

-Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary

-Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required

-Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project

-Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting

-Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations

-Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected

Qualification

【MUST】

①IT (Technical aspects)

-over 8 years of total IT industry experience.

-Demonstrated project management skills including project initiation, scoping, vendor selection, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, issue and risk management and communication

②Business

-Understanding / interest in the manufacturing industry at large.

-If you have the above, your current industry experience does not matter.

③PM Skill

-Experience in leadership in global system implementation projects.

-Experience in implementing systems in collaboration with foreign countries other than Japan.

-Drove projects by bringing together stakeholders such as business users and IT teams (development, architecture, external vendors, etc.) toward their goals.

-Managed stakeholders, including reporting and negotiations with management.

-Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization

-Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience leading teams

-Analytic, creative, and business-focused problem solver

-Ability to learn complex systems and business processes and define requirements for solutions

-Understanding of IT technologies and how to apply them

-Ability to work efficiently with global teams spanning continents, cultures & time zones

⑤Communication

Japanese and English (Does not have to be Native)

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization

-Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills

【Nice To Have】

IT (Technical aspects)

-Experience and knowledge of sales, logistics, and finance process in system implementation, cloud solution such as Salesforce and Oracle, and ERP system are plus.

-PMP, ScrumMaster or related Project Management certifications

Business

-Healthcare business.
