The Mechanics Engineer will primarily be responsible for design of miniaturized medical body worn sensors mechanics and assemblies as part GE Wireless Sensors team for Patient Monitoring systems.
Mechanics engineer will work as part of cross functional team consisting of industrial design, hardware, software and usability representatives. Mechanics engineer is responsible for mechanics concept creation, design, implementation, testing and manufacturing transfer of sensors product. Medical quality management system gives guideline for the work.
Key responsibilities include:
Design mechanical assemblies for sensor modules and communication units.
Select components and materials for products.
Perform or coordinate simulations and mechanical testing.
Contributing to manufacturing methods selection. Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Significant industry experience in the design of complex miniaturized mechanical assemblies.
Experience in designing plastic products and good material knowledge.
Experience of using tool for 3D modelling (Creo), mechanical simulation and Product Data Management tools.
Innovative and fresh way for problem solving.
Good communication and team working skills to achieve best solutions together with other team members.
Experience in working and negotiating with suppliers for components used in medical devices.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
EU work permit
Ability to travel few times per year. Desired Characteristics:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge on product visual quality definitions and evaluation methods.
Knowledge on product ergonomics factors.
Knowledge on performing Failure Mode Effect Analyses, Design For Manufacturing and Design for Reliability.
Knowledge and desire to learn additive manufacturing methods, printed manufacturing methods and structural electronics methods.
Experience in design of mobile products which are used in the healthcare space is an advantage.
