Role Summary:
The Solar Project Estimator is a member of the Project Management team that obtains, analyzes, and recommends pricing and bids on projects across the business.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, the Solar Project Estimator will:
Prepare quantity take-offs and pricing, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontract costs
Understand and interpret electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications
Prepare subcontractor bid packages, solicit subcontractor bids and review / evaluate bids
Maintain relationships with a group of quality subcontractors and identify prospective subcontractors
Collect, reconcile, and verify data for summary comparisons
Use sales / construction operating IT systems to record costs, bids, etc. to run reports to help analyze costs
Keep abreast of current changes and trends in construction codes
Prepare subcontract bid packages, solicit subcontract bids, and review and evaluate bids
Keep costing sheets and databases updated
Attend site walks
Determine wage adders

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college / university
Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the construction fields ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

Ability to price electrical, mechanical, and civil work
Intimate knowledge of construction work and sequencing
Proficient computer skills
Ability to Prepare subcontract bid packages, solicit subcontract bids, and review and evaluate bids
Ability to analyze construction costs for completed projects to inform estimates
Traditional Construction experience (Civil and Mechanical)
Electrical Estimating experience (Low and Medium Voltage Experience)
Strong Solar market experience
Strong contacts with civil, mechanical, and electrical contractors
Hands on electrical / general construction field experience
Experience working with estimating software and sales / construction operating IT systems
