General Electric Director - Software Engineering in Haifa, Israel

Job Description Summary

Director – Software Engineering, Image Generation, leads a team of software developers, domain experts, and architects to design and develop software for CT Image Generation and service tools computational. Lead the Haifa CT team site.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Setting the technology strategy and direction for CT Image Generation and driving continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools to enable execution of that technology strategy.

  2. Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring.

  3. Driving the adoption of modern agile software development practices, test automation, Continuous integration

  4. Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget

  5. Instilling a rigorous approach to customer centric development, software quality and platform development

  6. Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues

  7. Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development

  8. Collaborating with global locations to ensure consistent strategy for CT Image Generation

  9. Exploring and leveraging synergies with other imaging modalities (CT, MR, X-ray, etc.) to advance a common platform

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in SW Engineering, Computer Science, or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with:

  1. FIVE (5) years relevant work experience

  2. THREE (3) years of direct people leadership experience

Desired Characteristics:

  1. Masters or PhD in Software Engineering

  2. Experience in Healthcare Software Development

  3. Extensive experience with agile software methodologies like SCRUM, Continuous Integration.

  4. Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  5. SEVEN (7) years relevant industrial experience

  6. Proven ability to work cross-functionally

  7. Demonstrated project leadership and/or people management skills

  8. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others

  9. Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives

  10. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes

  11. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
