Reporting to the Methods, Special Tooling & Innovation Leader, the tooling design intern engineer is involved in the design of installation tools, machining, dismantling, handling, and lifting tools to recent major projects or at tender stage.
Essential Responsibilities
Analyze projects technical information (technical specifications, scope of work, division of work);
Support the design of the site's special tooling for site assembly in accordance with site planning and budget considering the EHS aspect;
Assist to the site Non Conformances
Participate to the projects procedures & tooling preparation.
Prepare information and execute technical drawings;
Provide technical support for procurement and site activites;
Qualifications / Requirements
Student Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
English;
Asset: knowledge of Safety Standards for Material Handling and Lifting Equipment (OSHA) B30.20 Below the hook;
Asset: knowledge of welding and machining;
Leadership, Autonomous, ability to work in a team and communicate effectively;
Must be prepared for pre-employment screening including, but not limited to, reference checks and background checks;
Must be authorized to work in Canada and US without restriction;
Desired Characteristics
To be passionate about mechanical design, Innovation and the field of Renewable Energy - hydropower;
Knowledge of calculation methods related to material resistance, finite element simulation, metallurgy and welding are assets;
Dessin 3D drawing (NX);
SmartSheet et Excel Intermediate knowledge.
