This position manages the Renewables Onshore port Planning, Sourcing & Operations plus the operations of rails sidings throughout N. America

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assess project supply chain assumptions versus site locations to determine potential options for component imports

  • Collaborate with inventory planning and logistics commodity leaders to select import locations that support the least total landed cost of project components

  • Manage relationships with port authorities, stevedores, marine surveyors, and transit yard operators needed to establish and maintain component handling operations

  • Negotiate contract terms and rate agreements with port and rail siding service providers consistent with GE Renewable Energy Sourcing Policy

  • Work with key port authority leaders to secure land use agreements and make infrastructure improvements needed to support GE’s volume forecasts

  • Monitor vessel and rail schedules to resolve bottlenecks and ensure service provider readiness at ports and transit yards

  • Verify deployment of lifting gear and other material critical to port and rail siding scope execution by support personnel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 3 years of supply chain or other pertinent experience

  • Working knowledge of logistics processes

  • High motivation, leadership, and influencing skills

  • Effectively communicate across all organizational levels, departments, and functions

  • Proven project management and process improvement skills

  • Aptitude with analytical tools (ex. Excel, Access); specific skills should include: data-mining, pivot tables, data manipulation

  • Ability to perform scenario analysis and strategy development

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and business acumen

  • Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to perform cost assessments and analysis

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
