Job Description Summary

The NDT Level III will be responsible for ensuring business-wide quality NDT processes, including digital x-ray (DR), fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), and Computed Tomography (CT). You will work directly with NDT Level II inspectors to develop and validate new material/part inspections. You will work directly with internal and external customers to ensure part procedures and practices are being performed to specifications. As new product introduction increases, you will have the opportunity to develop the inspection methods and implement those to a production environment. You will stay connected with state-of-the-art NDT technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist Site-Responsible Level 3 in daily management and implementation of NDE Processes.

  • Qualification training, testing and periodic over-reading of Level II inspectors in Penetrant and Radiography.

  • Read, interpret, and apply customer and industry standards related to NDT methodology and other general specifications.

  • NDT Procedure, technique and revision development, internal auditing, problem solving.

  • Administer initial and recurrent training programs for Penetrant and Radiography inspectors.

  • Conduct NDE audits to ensure site certification maintenance program compliance.

  • Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed.

  • Capable of developing techniques for a specific inspection, preparing, and verifying the adequacy of procedures and work instructions.

  • Be able to approve NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy.

  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of 3 years of NDT experience

Desired Characteristics

  • At least 1 year experience in Digital radiography Testing and/or Computer Topography

  • Level III Digital Radiography per NAS 410 aerospace standards. Must obtain GE certification within 12 months of employment.

  • Level III Penetrant Per NAS 410 aerospace standard. Must obtain GE certification within 12 months of employment.

  • Obtain Penetrant and Radiography Certifying Agent authority within 24 months of employment.

  • Experience performing fluorescent penetrant, digital radiographic and Computed Tomography inspection of cast turbine airfoils.

  • Knowledge of Avizo Clue, Volume Graphics software

  • Radiation Safety Officer
