General Electric Lead Lean Leader in Greenville, South Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Lead Lean Leader will provide tactical support within the Greenville Manufacturing facility in

the development and sustainment of a Lean/Inventory Strategy aligned with the business

imperatives. You will partner with organizational leadership to drive product and process

improvements aligned to the site lean roadmap that deliver lead time reductions and maximize free cash flow.

Job Description

As the Lead Lean Leader you will:

  • Execute and lead process improvement projects & initiatives throughout the site using lean principles.

  • Be responsible for continuous improvement, being an innovator of positive change that impacts safety, profitability, inventory turns, on-time delivery, lead-time and quality

  • Effectiveness is measured primarily through predetermined metrics

  • Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures, create, review and update improvement plans

  • Communicates and coordinates effectively with supply chain partners to achieve goals and results

  • Drives execution of Lean principles and all related initiatives such as Kaizen events and other “Best in Class” quality processes by leveraging appropriate team members and functional support personnel

  • Drive cross training efforts to best support safety, quality, productivity, cost and schedule commitment

  • Execute the lean strategy for the organization focused on each value stream and subsequently drive implementation

  • Create Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities for production/process enhancement to achieve organizational goal

  • Implement tools and metrics to improve visibility to operational health and lean performance Execute Lean Manufacturing initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process / workflow improvements, and visual management, and inventory reduction

  • Must be able to multi-task, manage projects, and work independently in fast-paced environment

  • Advocate and drive cultural transformation across site aligned to lean manufacturing principles & methodology.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma /GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 2 additional years in general manufacturing

Desired Characteristics :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team through commitment to meeting customer and organization demands

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, quality management systems, and standard cost systems

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations

  • Knowledge of products, processes, customer requirements and budgeting / financial processes

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization

  • Demonstrated commitment for process improvement

  • Lean Training and/or experience in a lean MFG environment
