General Electric Senior Lean Practitioner in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Job Description Summary
The Senior Lean Practitioner is a new position for the Avionics business and will be integral to the way we execute our business for the long-term. As part of the Business Operations team and working in close partnership with the Avionics Lean Transformation Leader, the Senior Lean Practitioner, will implement Lean practices across the business team and collaborate with stakeholders from other functions. This role will focus on transactional processes within the Avionics organization.
The overall objective of the role is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods across the business. To achieve this the Senior Lean Practitioner will be expected to serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant, and accountability partner for transactional Lean, driving the understanding and application of Lean principles and tools across the entire Avionics business.
Collaborate with Avionics Lean Transformation Leader to implement Lean transformation plan that improves processes and practices as compared to Lean company benchmarks, both internal and external. These activities include Hoshin Kanri, Problem Solving Reports, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement and Lean Training.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean techniques
Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile
Change agent, able to make the case for Lean, demonstrate immediate impact and drive cultural change within the business and at individual sites
Highly collaborative person, comfortable with constructive conflict and debate normally associated with change
Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities
Impactful communicator through executive staff level
Black Belt / Master Black Belt certification
Ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong followership
Additional leadership experience in a transactional function – finance, commercial, business, or engineering
Big picture thinker
Excellent time and project management
Proven ability to bring order and structure to function and organization quickly
Strategic mindset with hands-on approach
Strong commercial focus on customer and end user experience
Willing to relocate to Clearwater or Grand Rapids. Remote with ability to travel will be considered for highly qualified candidates.
