Job Description Summary

In this multi-faceted role, you will be responsible for leading a large, cross functional engineering project for our Aviation Systems customers. In partnership with the other functions, you’ll drive results that meet our customer expectations in terms of budget, schedule, and delivery. You will be expected to execute with some autonomy, guided by established policies and principles of Lean Product Development.
Responsible for developing and managing engineering / product development projects. Interfaces with internal/external customers to ensure organization resource allocation is made and project goals are accomplished.
Accountable to deliver the scope of work to the original cost estimate. Manages schedule, budget and integration of New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or legacy product-related projects, including influencing others to help meet customer expectations and hit program milestones.
Works with domestic and global integrated product team to meet program deliverables
Interfaces with customer's technical and project teams to provide program status, risks, and technical deliverables
Builds and utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum 8 years working experience in a technical or project management position
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
Proven ability to successfully collaborate with customers on complex projects
Ability to lead other leaders – setting expectations, collaborating, driving accountability
Displays strong ownership and accountability for the outcomes of NPI execution team
Demonstrated ability to lead strategy development and deployment
Excellent track record of driving continuous improvement
Continuous self-driven learner
Proven ability to solve problems, influence others, and achieve difficult goals
Strong background/expertise in safety critical software development processes
Experience leading Lean Product Development
Excellent track record of project/technical leadership on complex development programs
Project Management Certification
Strong oral and written communication skills
