You’ll develop understanding of component technologies, component failure mechanisms, design of electronic circuits, and the functions, interactions and performance of integrated (hardware and software) systems.

  • In the Systems Engineering role you’ll be part of a team that establishes & applies core systems engineering capabilities, defines airborne product use cases, specifies requirements, supports implementation, performs system-level integration, and verifies system requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop product fault detection, isolation and maintenance concepts including product system level requirements to support the product safety, maintenance and repair objectives

  • Assess product testability including performing fault detection and isolation analyses in accordance with industry standards (e.g. ARINC 423, ARINC 847, MIL-HDBK-1814A, MIL-HDBK-2165)

  • Assess product maintainability and repairability by performing Maintainability assessments in accordance with industry standards (e.g. MIL-STD-1472G, MIL-HDBK-470A, MIL-HDBK-472)

  • Develop Built-in-Test (BIT) plans and procedures, perform verification (via test and fault insertion) and develop associated test reports

  • Collaborate with the Hardware, Software, Systems, Test and Manufacturing teams to identify risks, implement corrective actions and optimize the M&T capability of the product

  • Help establish a culture that plans and enables successful M&T throughout the product development lifecycle

  • Define airborne product use cases and specify requirements based on customer expectations and defined concepts of operation

  • Support product implementation, providing clarification of requirements as needed

  • Perform system-level integration, using target hardware and simulations as required to demonstrate correct operation

  • Write and execute requirements verification in both informal and formal settings

  • Bring system-level perspective across the product development life cycle, including specification, integration, verification, and field support, e.g., root cause analysis.

  • Contribute to project plans and provide periodic status/metrics

  • Manage own time and assigned resources to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives

  • Contribute to the company’s engineering objectives regarding new product introduction, process improvement and lean manufacturing
