GE Aerospace Systems Engineering is seeking entry level engineers interested in software engineering roles to help us invent the future of flight, lift people up, and bring them home safely. In these roles, you will be challenged to use your technical skillset, problem-solving abilities, and lean mindset to meet key business objectives for our commercial and military customers across a variety of our product lines.

These opportunities are bonus eligible and will be flexible to either a work location of Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Capturing, understanding, and documenting the software requirements for various functions of the Flight Management System (FMS).

  • Understanding and implementing software verification test procedures which will include authoring and updating software tests in various scripting languages.

  • Ability to identify and report issues in software or test environment to technical leads.

  • Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

  • Assuring proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

  • Adhering to industry standards and contributing to the business’s software engineering strategy.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field

  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Quality Systems.

  • Prior work experience designing and implementing real-time embedded software, and subsequent verification.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Visual Basic or Python

  • Ability to execute and solve problems autonomously.

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate technical problems in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to dive deep to solve complex technical problems.

  • Openness to learn when faced with new or unfamiliar tasks

  • Proven leadership and teamwork skills .

  • Lean or agile awareness.
