General Electric Sr Manager - Digital Operations in Grand Forks, North Dakota

Role Summary:

Provides people leadership including budget, resource allocation and performance development. Works with a single team, across teams, GE sub-business or entire GE business to implement strategy. Acts as an interface between the LM Wind Power Business and IT function. Owns responsibility for building relationship with local business stakeholders of IT systems incl. new global ERP solution.

Essential Responsibilities:

1) Contribution towards Global IT

  • Contribute, together with the IT leadership team members, to the development of the group IT strategy

  • Develop, implement and monitor LM Wind Power IT regional strategy and keep it aligned with the group IT strategy

  • Implement and promote IT governance (plans, policies, processes and procedures) that will achieve the strategic objectives and support the business

  • Provides local support for ongoing ERP deployment

2) Business engagement

  • Establish and maintain network among different functions / business areas / stakeholders

  • Establish and facilitate forum/board to engage with business process owners / stakeholders

  • Identify and scope projects with business and IT teams

  • Participate at Steering Committee meetings at relevant projects

3) Vendor management

  • Extend support to the license and contract management for renew / new contracts incl. budgeting

  • Coordinate with local vendors for support

  • Provide inputs to the license and contract management team on the existing / old local contracts and local license usage

4) Governance and budget

  • Ensure a transparency around local budget incl. accountability for IT costs within own area

  • Ensure cost controlling, budgeting and tracking for accountable and relevant cost centers

  • Ensure that local IT assets are well tracked and provide necessary inputs towards global organization

  • Ensure IT processes and SLAs are followed by regional IT organization in all functions

5) Leadership and people management

  • Manage other people managers and technical leads/individual contributors

  • Recruit, manage, motivate, coach, hire key talent (assisting also one level below direct reports)

  • Identify training needs and development of training programs and monitor progress

  • Maintain succession planning to ensure continuity

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in an IT department in an international environment

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a team at multiple locations

Desired Characteristics

  • Overall knowledge of ERP and experience in deployment

  • Experience in facilitation of regional Super User community for an ERP is an advantage

  • ITIL Framework certified is preferable

  • Demonstrated experience working cross-country, cross-culture in a multi-site/national organization

  • Good communication skills

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Excellent English (French-Canadian is an advantage)
