General Electric Senior Product Manager - Dowty Propellers in Gloucester, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible a team of program managers within the newly formed OE & Product Value stream at Dowty Propellers reporting to the OE Product Leader. The purpose of Value Stream is to lead cross functional teams to deliver high quality propeller products to customers that operate reliably in service and managing the product lifecycle to deliver on all business objectives. You will be responsible for developing the product strategy within your assigned portfolio, working with all functions to ensure customer commitments are met and tracking progress through weekly and monthly key performance indicators (KPIs). Strong commercial acumen and program management judgment are required to achieve the outcomes required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead programs team and cross functional teams in accordance with lean principles (Daily Management, operating reviews, Leader Standard work).

  • P&L and budget responsibility for the assigned portfolio.

  • Adhere to, and lead tollgate process for assigned programs.

  • All contract performance related activities, tied to customer(s) or program(s) managed by yourself and your team.

  • Perform as interface between the customer and the internal business team, sharing voice of customer internally as appropriate, assuring timely resolution of issues, and negotiate changes, variations, solutions to issues.

  • Develop and execute strategy for assigned portfolio of products to ensure continued sales growth, profitability and opportunities for simplification or cost reduction.

  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend solutions or best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.

  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Product Management and/or commercial experience.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical or business subject from an accredited university or college or the same knowledge/experience.

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and Organisational skills to meet goals and set priorities, in challenging and uncertain environments.

  • Strong Interpersonal skills to lead and coach team members.

  • Ability and willingness to travel.

  • Change Management experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in aftermarket & services product management

  • Experience of FAR15 pricing and negotiations.

  • Data analysis skills and familiarity with digital analytics solutions.
