General Electric Senior DevOps Engineer (Jenkins, CI/CD) - REMOTE in Remote,

Job Description Summary

On the Propel team our mission is to improve the productivity of development teams across GE. We are looking for someone to join the team who has a customer focus and enthusiasm to learn and grow. This role will cover technical support for development teams using an in-house CI/CD platform. There are also opportunities to contribute to the areas of cloud infrastructure, enterprise tool management and software development. The team is a small full-stack team with many opportunities for growth.

Job Description


  • Troubleshooting and following up on customer facing issues

  • Interface with customers on various collaboration platforms

  • Use your customer interactions to innovate on improving the platform

  • Automation of maintenance and monitoring activities

  • Be part of an Agile team, using the agile process for daily work

  • Cooperate with a global engineering team in daily work

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for tier 2/3 emergency events

  • Expected to be provide on-call support which may require some off hour work


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and 4+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent work experience.

Technical Expertise:

  • 7+ years in an Agile, Kanban, Scrum or other project management methodology

  • 7+ years DevOps/Software Engineering experience

  • 7+ years of experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Jenkins file and build pipelines.

  • 4+ years of Python scripting, shell, Go. Etc

  • 4+ years of Docker experience

  • Strong knowledge in Linux

  • Strong knowledge in Git

  • Public cloud experience like AWS, Azure etc

  • Kubernetes experience is a plus.

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible is a plus.

  • Experience with SQL database queries

  • Knowledge of the secure development lifecycle (OSS scan, DAST, SAST)

  • Ability to understand a complex distributed system

  • Advanced ability to set priorities and independently resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to work independently and interact with a multi-disciplinary staff in a team environment

  • Audit and maintain a secure environment

  • Provide detailed design and as-built documentation for the platform
