The EHS Product Safety Governance Leader must be able to partner effectively with Company leaders and Business Unit EHS Leaders to manage expectations and to align on strategy and governance control to best prioritize initiatives in alignment with BUs based on risk to ensure focused execution.

This leader will, in alignment with the EHS management system requirements, build a simple governance structure to minimize incidents and accidents to our employees, contractors and the environment based on product safety related aspects. They will also provide support for design reviews and risk assessments and support internal and external audits, as needed.

Additional responsibilities will include the management of Product Safety issues raised from customers, Board of Directors shareholders, and investors from issuance to closure.

As such, the EHS Product Safety Governance Leader will support cross business communities of EHS leaders, collaborate closely with the GE Vernova Legal Counsel, and ensure effective integration of Product Safety in the businesses by reducing associated risks and costs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish a Read Across review cadence and related standard work to address product safetyrelated concerns, risks, and learnings to improve overall safety program effectiveness.

  • Operationalize management of change (MoC) practices relating to product safety and integrateinto existing MoC procedures within the GE Vernova Businesses.

  • Proactively identify future safety risks and develop global contingency plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in engineering or another relevant technical / business field required.

  • Executive business leader with major operations management experience in largeregulated, high hazard industrial companies, where there is field-based work.

  • Demonstrated Product compliance oversight and knowledge of applicabledirectives (e.g., EU CSRD and TSRD)

  • Technical experience from the Energy sector or hands-on knowledge fromengineering design reviews

  • Strong analytic skills, ability to analyse complex data set

  • Experience in handling complex EHS compliance cases aligned with Legal Council (E.g., some cases are highly critical and could be linked to the EHS ERM register)

  • Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills

  • Global, functional leadership in a highly-matrixed business with similar complexity.

  • Demonstrated team building and engagement with staff, customers, consultantsand contractors

Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced degree or MBA (or equivalent knowledge or experience)

  • Experience with front line EHS management, Quality, and or Lean Management

  • Demonstrated team building and engagement with staff, customers, consultants and contractors

  • Demonstrated Product compliance oversight and knowledge of applicable directives (e.g., EU CSRD and TSRD)

  • Technical experience from the Energy sector or hands-on knowledge from engineering design reviews

  • Experience as a lead auditor ISO 9001/ISO 45001

  • Knowledge of relevant legal requirements such as, but not limited to, Securities Exchange Act of1934 (US), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021, CSRD/TSRD EU Directives, CSR EUDirective2014/95/EU, REACH, RoHS/WEEE, Conflict Mineral, and OSHA/EU OSHA

  • Excellent and concise communication skills demonstrated with an ability to listen andcommunicate clearly, effectively, and persuasively, in verbal and written presentations.

  • Experience in operating Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools

  • Experience with front line EHS management

  • Experience in Quality or Lean Management

The salary range for this position is $170.000,00 to $350.000,00 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 35% target bonus and long term incentive.
