Job Description Summary
You will join a team of agile software engineers and cyber security experts to build industry leading technology that solves some of GE's toughest threat driven challenges. This team is focused on developing solutions which enable GE's Cyber teams to detect, contain, and remediate cyber threat. The Sr. Software Engineer will develop, test and operate these solutions specifically for GE's Cyber Intelligence and Detection pillars.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a part of a cross functional development team, you will be designing and building new capabilities for GE's Cyber Intelligence and Detection pillars. It is essential to build and maintain quality solutions that will be the backbone portfolio of products used by GE's Cyber team's to track and identify targeted attacks. In addition, your familiarity with cyber security risks & networking or your ability to communicate with cyber experts to understand the field makes you the ideal candidate to be on this team of engineers.
Additionally you will:
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as story definition, product increment planning, and retrospective
Integrate domain data knowledge into solution designs and breakdown solution requirements into user stories.
Analyze current set of product capabilities and propose improvements or changes
Participate in peer reviews, mentor others, and determine optimal ways to create valuable code
Identify downstream implications of technology choices (e.g., data quality, regulatory, etc.)
Be responsible for the testing and quality assurance of solutions you design
Deliver operating plans for solutions you create with a DevOps focus.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or (STEM) and 6+ years of professional experience
4+ years of experience Object Oriented and or scripting software language (Python, ruby, Perl, C++, C# etc.)
2+ years of experience working with API
2+ years of experience working with AWS

Experience and works well within in a cross functional, multi-disciplinary engineering team
Ability to lead through influence
Shows customer empathy, and solution imagination to drive Product Market Fit
Prior experience working with APIs on software integrations
Automated testing skills at unit, functional and integration levels
Previous experience with Cyber Incident Response and data used for detection and triage
Experience with common DBs like Maria, MySQL, Postgres to include schema design and creation, production admin/maintenance, as well as DB functions and views.
Understands the business drivers for evaluating IT Risk tools and new feature development
Strong sense of software craftsmanship and drive to better ones self and those around you
Willing to be a mentor and educate others
