Job Description Summary

We're seeking a very hands-on program manager with the capacity to plan and execute on digital transformation programs across Cyber Security function. In the role of Director, Program Management, success using Lean and Agile development is a must, coupled with expertise using wikis, financial/ project planning, and people leadership tools. You'll collaborate cross-functionally across the organization on major projects, in which you'll continuously look for opportunities for improvement, while managing change and balancing schedule risk. You will have accountability for all aspects (intake, planning, resource forecasting, monitoring, and operations) of the end-to-end lifecycle of a program and projects. High levels of operational judgment and proactively taking initiative ownership are required to achieve outcomes required. We are looking for an experienced program manager who loves to solve problems and can work with Senior leaders to execute on critical programs/projects.

Job Description

Program Manager in the GE Cyber Security team leading a number of projects driving strategic program execution and increased capital efficiency across GE Cyber Security products and services

Expected to leverage technology, process and domain expertise to drive execution across multiple interdependent projects within the program; ensure outcomes delivery on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality.

Utilize technical, organizational and communication skills to define a Program Management framework and ensure compliance with it. Personally responsible for overall program execution and providing leadership updates on health of the portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Outline multi-generational project strategy aligned to deliver on the expected outcomes.

  • Define execution methodologies and project management practices to be followed by all projects within the program.

  • Organize project teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope and timeline.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical and functional teams; Coordinate execution across multiple projects and drive shared approach and outcomes tracking.

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required.

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives.

  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations.

  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected.

  • Perform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget tracking.

  • Bring a lean perspective to solve problems and apply agile practices as applicable

  • Work on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge within a domain: technical, solutions, business or information.

  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective. Balance value propositions for competing stakeholders

  • Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications. Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making. Understand when change is needed. Participate in technical strategy planning.

  • Influence and energize others toward the common vision and goal. Maintain excitement for a process and drive to new directions of meeting the goal even when odds and setbacks render one path impassable.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering or 4 years of IT technical experience

  • Minimum 8 years of IT professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Program Management including project and financial management leading cross functional initiatives and/or large global projects

  • Proven experience of project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organization.

  • Demonstrated track record of implementing & operating standards for large organizations.

  • Financial experience including budget management, spend tracking, and liquidations

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals

  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization

  • Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals

  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources

  • Experience working with others on a global basis

  • Applies knowledge to coach and mentor others

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives

  • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans

  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly

  • Knowledge of lean and agile practices
