General Electric Senior Sourcing Staff Manager in Gebze, Turkey

Job Description Summary

Organize, plan, supervise and control Sourcing process of transformers production, service and Erection&Commisioning requisitions, under the Sourcing process defined by related Business instructions, with the objective of supplying the Unit with the required goods and services at the right cost, the right time and the right quality.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participation to the PL Sourcing Strategy, analyze, propose, recommend and implement the Unit Sourcing Action Plans, in order to optimize the cost, quality and delivery of purchases.

  • Negotiating commercial conditions (price, payment terms, incoterms, warranty, logistic requirements) with suppliers

  • Searching for new suppliers / materials / technologies locally/globally; carrying out supplier selection steps i.e Supplier Assessment and SRG auditing.

  • Negotiating agreements with suppliers (GE GTC and other contractual conditions)

  • Propose & implement cost reduction actions for the assigned commodity portfolio

  • Providing analysis on market, new products, new comers, legal constraints, etc

  • Collaborating with the Global Sourcing Team, Global Commodity Leaders and peers involved in other Sourcing initiatives.

  • Supporting GE units in case of logistic, quality or price issues with the suppliers in factory’s portfolio

  • Reporting sourcing activities, savings, initiatives to Sourcing management.

  • Ensuring optimized prices are provided to the Commercial teams bidding for tenders.

  • Hire, train, motivate and evaluate the people in the Team, in order to provide the Unit with the needed Sourcing competencies and performance.

  • Awareness of the company and local EHS policies, rules and standards. Showing exemplary behaviors on EHS. Coaching, supporting and monitoring of EHS implementations in his/her team and area of responsibility. Performing the preventive/corrective actions in collaboration with EHS team to avoid the accidents, incidents and environmental damages.

  • Awareness of Information Security practices and regulations in the communication chain with suppliers or colleagues within the organization.

  • Awareness of GE Integrity Rules and ensuring the supplier portfolio is in full compliance with the integrity guideline.

Qualifications / Requirements / Desired characteristics:

  • BS degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or BA in Business administration is preferred

  • Fluency in English (spoken & written)

  • Min. 10+ years experience in Sourcing Operations, at least 5 years experience in team management
