Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a senior level Welder (Drilling Services) - in Houston TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and in-process inspections in accordance with API and ISO quality specifications

  • Help facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems that enhance through-put within the work team

  • Material Movement and operation of shop equipment i.e. cranes, carts, forklifts, blasting cabinets, etc.

  • Maintain skills to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Vocational or Professional Training and Certification for GMAW, GTAW, or PTA welding

  • Able to read blue prints

  • 5+ years of experience in performing welding processes

  • Train new personnel as needed

  • Supports the team and team's objectives

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in related oilfield position

  • Previous Experience with Oxy-Acetylene, Stub welding, Induction Welding, Hot Wire Tig, or HVOF

  • Previous Experience with resistance welding/spot welding

  • Previous Experience with welding high strength/high alloy metals

  • Candidates must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays, if required.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, for any employer, without sponsorship.
